When A Furnace Should Be Replaced
There comes a point where a furnace has aged out, or broken down enough times, that another repair stops making financial sense. Replacement covers the whole picture: reviewing your current setup, calculating the right size unit for your space, and installing a furnace built for how your home actually holds heat. Because Wilmington Island, GA has such a wide mix of home ages and construction styles, a good replacement job always starts by looking closely at your ductwork and insulation — never just dropping in a like-for-like unit.
The Cost Of Waiting Too Long
A furnace running well past its expected years tends to lose efficiency bit by bit, which means higher heating bills even while the unit keeps limping along. Aging systems are also more prone to sudden failure, and that failure has a habit of striking during the harshest cold snap of the season. Continuing to pour money into repairs on a unit near the end of its life often adds up to more than the cost of one well-sized replacement.
